mblakeman - thanks ! These worked like a charm for what I needed. I'd like to help out and put them on a faster mirror repository if that's okay with you ?

Apologies. I didn't notice the second page here :-)

I'm in the process of creating a new set of packages.

I have an IPS running on an alternate server with new versions of most of these packages with an ffmpeg that works properly, eg x264 and thread support that works.

Perhaps, when I am happy with the packages I could publish them to your server.

Also, the new gstreamer packages that I have created are to complement the gstreamer plugins from Fluendo.

If you use OpenSolaris for Multimedia, I highly recommend the Fluendo plugins. They are fantastic.

Many thanks for the time you have put into this. As you have suggested I have used these too supplement the great codecs from Fluendo. It is important that we support their efforts so that we have multimedia options available in legal jursidictions where patents are very threatening (USA, Japan etc) in addition to your files for those who live in countries with more rational patent systems :)

These packages plug a huge gap in OpenSolaris' desktop functionality, if there is anything I can do to support your continuing to provide these packages please let me know: che at opensolaris dot org

Many thanks for these packages. They're actually better than the Fluendo packages as the Fluendo packages cause crashes in Totem while watching DVDs.

I actually tried to compile the packages myself before using yours but I failed. Do you have any tips for compiling gstreamer packages?

Thanks again

A quick note to let everyone know that I've made a new repository available at http://ips.homeunix.com:10906 .

I've been slowly adding updated packages to this repo as I recompile and test them.

Eventually, the repository on port 10000 will be decommissioned.

You can read a little about this repo at http://solaris.homeunix.com/?q=node/11 .

Also, keep your eye open for a Poll at http://solaris.homeunix.com so I can gauge was most users need and/or are using from my repositories.
