I have installed OpenSolaris 2008.05 on an HP laptop, pavilion ze4600, with
no issues during the installation.

However, once I have booted the OS, it does not see the system keyboard or the touchpad. It does see and I can use a USB keyboard and a USB mouse.

One time, and one time only, I was able to use the system keyboard immediately after booting. But, this has not repeated after numerous attempts.

Any suggestions on what might be done to make things work as they should?
