Dear All,

I am having problem installing Solaris 10 on my desktop which has the following configuration:

processor - intel pentium 4 (1.8 GHz)

motherboard - MSI 845E (Intel 845 Chipset)

RAM - 1 GB (400 Bus)

AGP - 128 MB (sparkle mmx400)

HDD -- 80 GB Samsung (7200 rpm)

optical drive -- ASUS DVD rom, Philips DVD Writer

no floppy disk

ethernet card -- realtek 8139 chipset

sound card -- on board AC '97

I have windows vista and xp running on my system.now if I want to boot from a solaris cd.. in the first window it asks for a choice like below

1. solaris express developer edition

2. solaris express

3. solaris console tty4

4. solaris console ...

from above any option I choose it shows an error msg like below

error28: the selected option cant fit to memory.

now u suggest me what can I do... your early response is highly appreciated. Please help me with this... SOS

Which Solaris CD do you have? It doesn't appear that you have OpenSolaris 2008.05. You can get OpenSolaris from here: http://www.opensolaris.com/get/. It's a live CD that once loaded, you can then choose to install OpenSolaris.

Hello!

I got this problem on my older comps too. If I right, the problem is the processor. The Solaris 2008.05 live cd is only suit in 64bit enviroment, when you try to run in 32bit system you will see this error. I cannot find yet another live cd, that suit for 32bit. Any idea?
