hello I am not sure where to but this post or whether I have come to the right support I just transfered over from solaris express developers edition and installed opensolaris 2008.05 I think 86 build anyway I have managed to get the network driver and the sound drivwer installed and working but there are alot of bug I seem to run into. I don't know where to start or even report them
so I have posted here in the hope of help. (problems are listed in number of importance and some may only be inconpatibilities or bugs to be reported...please advise)(please pardon the lack of detail as I cannot boot into solaris at this point until I fix 1

1) while trying to update using ips I slected several updates in internet section the program then checked dependencies and then downloaded I clicked ok to install after which every thing semmed normal so I restarted the computer using init 6 which worked safely with the drivers. after the reboot several pathes could not be located (if more detail is needed please quote 1 so I can include them in my next post) The last message that came through was something like
Ktrld cannot find or resolve problem please goto failsafe to resolve the issue unfortunately I cannot boot into failsafe or any where. In short the boot paths can't be found

2)due to missing gstreamers the msic does not play but system sounds will come through
3)java updates will not initiate due to some problem with installation (I am guessing something I do wrong
4) te compwiz management does not allow any activation of any features so the lowest graphic setting is all I can access
5) probably not important but 3d mode wont activate in chess game due to missing python bindings

please forgive the lack of detail but my system did just fail on boot and I am new to solaris operating system.
your advise and comments will be VERY much apreciated.
I will try to post the exact error messages on the boot problem tomorrow
